Syntaxin is pursuing a number of biopharmaceutical therapeutic targets using its proprietary retargeted clostridial endopeptidase technology in relation to pain and other nerve disorders, respiratory, endocrine, and metabolic diseases. In two of these areas Syntaxin has identified lead candidates demonstrating efficacy in relevant animal models and is undertaking pre-clinical development of these candidates to enable early clinical proof of concept.
Syntaxin are pioneering new biopharmaceutical products such as novel proteins inhibiting secretion and helping to treat chronic disorders.
One of these candidates is in the field of chronic pain and is being pursued with our partner Allergan Inc. whilst the other is in the area of mucus hypersecretion in chronic respiratory disease and this is being taken forward by the biopharmaceutical company itself.
