Syntaxin is pursuing a number of therapeutic targets in relation to neurological, endocrine and proliferative (oncology) disorders, using its proprietary Targeted Secretion Inhibitor (TSI) technology.

In partnership with Allergan, Syntaxin has an active programme in the field of human pain. Our lead candidate, AGN 214868, has completed Phase I and entered Phase II clinical trials in July 2010. Please refer to the following link for further clinical study information - Clinical Trials.   Allergan is also conducting a Phase II clinical trial of AGN 214868 for the treatment of Idiopathic Overactive Bladder and Urinary Incontinence. Please refer to the following link for further information on these studies - Clinical Trials.

Syntaxin also has its own clinical candidate in development as a novel treatment for acromegaly. Syntaxin has identified lead candidates demonstrating efficacy in relevant models, and is undertaking pre-clinical development of these candidates to enable early clinical proof of concept in other diseases.

In October 2011, Syntaxin and Ipsen signed a global strategic collaboration to explore the discovery and development of new compounds in the field of botulinum toxins.  Syntaxin is responsible for the discovery of new therapeutic candidates and Ipsen will apply its skills to pharmacological, preclinical and clinical assessments of the newly discovered compounds.
